Salisa Language School, SLS Training Centre was established in September 2014.
We employ a curriculum approved and accredited by the Chonburi Provincial Education Authority (a division of the Ministry of Education, Thailand) and supported by independent Thai ESL university professors.
SLS is located in Thailand and is registered as a school, governed by its laws and operates under the authority of the
Ministry of Education, Thailand. SLS received authority to operate by passing through a rigorous approval and accreditation process and subsequently obtained a license to teach an “in-class” course.
For the SLS course to become approved the support of three Thai university professors of English was required. For teachers who plan to work in a Thai government school it is better to hold an in-class TEFL course certificate, and better still, one approved by the Ministry of Education, Thailand.
- The Chonburi Provincial Education Authority (Ministry of Education) Thailand approved Salisa Language School (SLS) License no. 004/2557 on 27th August 2014.
- The Chonburi Provincial Education Authority (Ministry of Education) Thailand approved the SLS TEFL Course License no. 002/2561 on 20th February 2018.
Mr. Cillian Hayes is our Academic Head of TEFL. He oversees TEFL trainers and teaches/instructs TEFL trainees. He graduated in 1983 from the University of Newcastle with a B.Ed. (Honours) degree in Education and Professional Studies and later obtained further qualifications in Special Education and Clinical Psychology, from the University of Birmingham.

On February 16, 2020 Thailand’s Education Minister, Mr Natapol Teepsuwan, appealed to help him find an extra 3,000 foreign English Teachers to help schools teach English and other subjects in English. This would bring the total foreign English teachers to 10,000. SLS is already helping and can help further.
Thailand’s English Language Proficiency is currently ranked very low at #20/24 countries in Asia and #89/100 of countries/regions. SLS is helping and is ready to help increase the standard of English in Thailand.
